Welcome to Bloemfontein Podiatry
At Bloemfontein Podiatry, our healthcare professionals play an important role in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of foot and related lower limb conditions.
Our feet are often the most neglected and forgotten part of our bodies. At Bloemfontein Podiatry we know that people are more likely to have serviced their car than to have had their feet checked by a Podiatrist. Yet our feet are our main mode of transport, carrying us on a journey of 128,000 kilometers in a lifetime – the equivalent to three times around the world.
The condition of your feet can affect the well-being of your entire body.

Some of the more common problems treated are painful corns and calluses, warts under the feet, ingrown toenails, hard and/or cracked heels and athlete’s foot. Podiatry also involves treating all foot problems experienced by geriatrics, diabetics, and people with disabilities, as well as sport-related injuries and foot disorders in children. Common foot and lower limb problems that occur in children are knock-knees, pigeon-toes or duck gait, growing pains, flat feet or high arches. Poor biomechanics, i.e. the way we walk or run, can cause damage that might begin as a minor ache or pain which, over the years, could worsen into a severe disorder. Podiatrists assess and treat these more complex issues relating to structural and functional defects of the lower limbs and feet. Laser treatment is now also available for the treatment of fungus (onymychomycosis). A session for all the toes takes approximately one hour and the success rate is more than 92% according to statistics done in the USA. All Medical Aid Schemes welcome – charges are in accordance with Medical Aid Rates.
